Zakir works as a letter examiner in a prison in Istanbul. His job is to read all the letters of the inmates and cross out any objectionable content. His life goes between prison and writing courses which he secretly attends. To fulfill his homework at the writing course, he secretly takes a photograph from one of the letters he checks. The photograph is of an inmate Recep and his wife Selma. This photograph turns from an inspiration to an obsession for Zakir.
