I am Istanbul is an interactive web-based storytelling platform, pulling the curtains back and inviting viewers to observe the ever-changing flow of daily life in Istanbul throughout the 20th century via the lives of fictional characters. The characters can be tracked on the historical city maps and enriched by urban archives; their stories offer viewers a unique experience of the social, political, economic and physical transformation of the city over the last century.

Nil Tuzcu is a technologist, designer and researcher working on datadriven urban representations, digital humanities and urban history. She currently works as a digital humanities researcher at Harvard University, and as a Research Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
