Sarah Adina Smith was born in Colorado. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Philosophy at Columbia University. She is a writer and a director. Before her first feature Midnight Swim (2014, !f 2015), she wrote and directed award-winning short The Sirens (2009). Buster's Mal Heart (2016) is her second feature.
