"We're not human. We're on holiday here." (From the film)

SUMMARY

Two mermaids came ashore at a night club in Warsaw.

Remind yourself how fascinated you were by Andersen's The Little Mermaid as a child. Now picture a punk version of the story, set in a nightclub, featuring two singing mermaids with fangs. Crazy, isn't it? First time Polish director Agnieszka Smoczynska says the film echoes a youth spent in her mother's nightclub, where she had her "first shot of vodka, first cigarette, first sexual disappointment, and first important feeling for a boy." She wanted to tell all of this in a rendering of The Little Mermaid. Get ready for a magnetic, awe-inspiring millennial musical.
