"+ Homophobia? -Rebel! + Hate murders? -Rebel!" (From The Film)

SUMMARY

Deniz is a trans woman working as a sex laborer in the Mediterranean Turkish city of Mersin. She was a victim of a hate crime, stabbed by a group of people. As she was trying to escape, heavily injured, she was run over by a car and broke her leg. She is now trying to get her health back with the help of her housemates Ece and Esmeray, but also continues to fight against homophopia at the Seven Colors Association, the first LGBTI in southern Turkey. One of the ways of defeating hate is to be more visible in day-to-day life, and thus gain people's recognition. Hatewalk lovingly tells the story of trans, lesbian, gay and bisexual activists in Mersin, and gives us the chance to get to know them closely.
