A new form of filmmaking. Shot by millions of people in India. In a single day.
Google invited millions of people across India to turn on their cameras and smartphones, record their lives, and then upload their footage to a website. From dawn to dusk on October 10, 2015, a day like any other, 16.000 submissions were uploaded. India was speaking its many truths, and showing its many colors. Then Richie Mehta -- whose Siddharth won our hearts at !f 2014 for its sublime, intimate look at a sorrowful Indian story -- worked on that footage for months. Male, female and transgendered, young and old, rural and urban, Indians show and tell their stories. There are traffic jams and serene landscapes; men playing cricket and farmers talking about their harvest. A woman talking about her deepest desires while taking care of her child. People talk of freedom, hope, family, choices, their futures and dreams. There's a lot of dancing, humor and joy. The bottom line is a film that celebrates life as it is.

Born in Mississauga, Canada, Richie Mehta has won over 30 international awards and was nominated for 6 Genie awards with his first feature film Amal (2007), which was named one of the top ten Canadian films of the decade by Playback Magazine. His latest films are I'll Follow You Down (2013) and Siddharth (2013, !f 2014).
