"I don't see myself making bigstatement films, because I don't think that's something I can do. I just try to find some sort of honesty in what I make, have that come from personal experience and try to relate that to the audience." So Yong Kim (Director)

SUMMARY

A delicate heartbreaker about friendship, desire and the occasionally blurred line between the two.

Lovesong is an intimate story of female friendship. Also, it's a quiet love song for a love that doesn't dare speak its name. Sarah and Mindy are long time friends, who seem to have lost touch for a while. Sarah has a three year old daughter, Jessie, and a husband who is rarely around. She seems tired and bored, but when Mindy comes to visit and the three of them go on a road trip together, Mindy's playfulness and vivacity bring Sarah back to life. Life seems lighter; and an alcohol-infused, long unspoken intimacy emerges between Sarah and Mindy. But when these feelings are ignored in silence the next day, Mindy gets on a bus to go home. It'll be three years later when they see each other again, at Mindy's wedding. Lovesong is yet another testament to So Yong Kim's reputation as a 'master of silence'.
