"Nublu reshapes, reinvents itself every night." Sercan Sezgin (Director)
Nublu, a magical, musical experience.
Nublu is a Lower East Side spot where artists in various musical genres experiment and develop their own sounds, carrying on the tradition of NYC's artist-run lofts. Founded and run by İlhan Erşahin, Nublu is these artists' home and playground. Packed with short excerpts featuring some of your favorite musicians talking about the history of jazz lofts in the Lower East Side, and other interesting musical memories, Nublu the documentary gives us an impressionistic feel of what happens there every night. We revel in snippets of performances by some mindblowing musicians including The Nublu Orchestra, Butch Morris, Henry Threadgill, Sun Ra Arkestra, Brazilian Girls, Jojo Mayer, and others. Good stories, tasty music, and a touch of the Nublu magic is what you're in for in this music-lover of a documentary.
