"It's put together like a magic lantern: you have one image, then another, then another, and they all work together to form one fluid movement." Rebecca Zlotowski (Director)

SUMMARY

A dream-like story about cinema!

Paris in the 1930s. Two mysterious American spiritualist sisters are completing the last leg of a world tour. Their apparent power to communicate with the dead piques the interest of a film producer, who employs their strange talents for his wildly ambitious new project. Laura and Kate are soon swept up in a scheme that fuses art and the occult, and hints at the dark shadow soon to be cast over all of Europe. Natalie Portman hasn't shown such an alluring dark side since Black Swan, and Lily-Rose Depp shows us that cinema can be a spiritual medium. Lyrical and dreamlike, Planetarium immerses us in a world where, as with cinema itself, reality and illusion intermingle until it's nearly impossible to distinguish between the two.
