One of the first VR experiences ever filmed in an active war zone, The Fight for Falluja transports the viewer to Falluja, Iraq where she witnesses battles with ISIS firsthand. The creator of the piece, Ben Solomon, includes himself in the piece, allowing the battles and the process of documentation to co-exist at the same time. This piece paves the way for a new type of immersive journalism.

Ben C. Solomon is a multimedia journalist, documentary filmmaker and foreign correspondent for the NY Times. Pulitzer Prize-winning Solomon also won the George Polk Award for health reporting, an Edward R. Murrow award for continuing coverage of the Ebola crisis, and was nominated for the Livingston Award for Young Journalists.
